Several years had passed since the Great Shift. Tyler had graduated from college and had gone on to be quite successful. He was ready for his reunion to see his sorority sisters again. He really had a lot to thank them for. After all, they were the ones that encouraged him to change his major; it was also the sorority's connections that helped him climb the corporate ladder so quickly. He didn't think about his life before the Shift anymore. He could barely remember what it was like to not to be a woman, and he was perfectly okay with that.

Hospital (Part 1)

Seth awoke in the hospital scared and confused. He hadn't remembered the accident that had placed him there, and he wasn't sure he understood what was going on. He couldn't move his head; he couldn't move his entire body! From his vantage point, he could see various tubes and medical equipment that he was attached to. He knew he was sitting instead of lying down. He body also looking thinner and frailer. At first he assumed it was because he must have been in the hospital for so long, but he soon realized it was a completely unfamiliar body. He was someone else entirely. He couldn't check, but it appears he was a woman. His mind was confused, and just about when he was about to feel totally crazy, he heard a familiar voice.

"I can't believe you're actually awake!" It was his wife. He could tell from her timbre that she was nearly in tears. She continued, "I suppose I have a lot of explaining to do."

Slowly

Calvin was starting to wish he had never activated that strange device in the science lab. When he was hit by the beam, he assumed it didn't do anything. After all, he didn't experience any noticeable immediate problems. Over the past few days though, things had started to change about him. They were subtle at first. His bottom got a little bigger; his frame thinned out. His hair seemed to be growing several inches each day from the top of his head while disappearing elsewhere on his body. Waking up a few days later and looking in the mirror, it all became obvious. He was no longer the nerdy guy he once was, but a gorgeous woman instead. Putting one hand up to his face, he stared at himself in disbelief. The other hand went down below his belt to confirm that he was, in fact, a woman.

Wedding

Brian still couldn't believe the reflection that looked back at him in the mirror, and he still couldn't believe what had happened earlier today. He had been attending the wedding of one of his friends. Hearing the music to indicate the bride coming in, he turned to the back of the church. A queasy feeling soon overcame him, and he realized he was suddenly the one in the white dress being lead down the aisle to greet his friend. Without knowing what else to do, he ran in the other direction. He had no idea know how he swapped bodies with his friend's bride-to-be, but he didn't want to go through with that wedding. He didn't know where to go or what to do! He didn't even have a change of clothes!

A few more minutes

John had been sitting in this chair for hours, but he told himself it would all be worth it. Once the procedure was finished, he would be a woman. Not just cosmetically but a full-functioning woman! Technology had come a long ways in recent years. The procedure to change genders was not only better than ever, but also non-invasive. The doctor felt John impatient squirming in his seat.

"Please, Mr. Cumberland," She said, "Sit still for just a few more minutes. We are almost done here, and it would be very bad if you moved too much screwing up the last few hours of work."

What happens in Vegas...

Chuck tried not to think about how much he had just lost in Vegas. He had not only lost every thing he had, the casino extended him a line of credit that he wasted away as well. Now it was time for the casino to collect. Fortunately, the casino was open to figuring something out with Chuck so that he could pay them back. He'd be working until his debt was paid off. Unfortunately, he had no idea he'd be working from inside one of the people already employed by the hotel. When he found himself inside the body of a busty waitress serving drinks, he was shocked! He did some quick calculations in his head based off a waitress's salary. He'd be stuck here for the next ten years! Good tips might be able to shave off some of that time. He looked down at his body, realizing it might be good for his situation after all!

Jack dipped his lure into the water. The water level was low today in this part of the river, which meant the bigger fish would probably be further upstream. It didn't matter. He wasn't here to catch fish; he was here to think. Mostly he thought about his new body. Up until a few days ago, it had belonged to a young woman named Amanda Chatzi. Now it was his. Her body was so skinny and weak. He wondered if he'd even be able to reel in bigger fish further up the river. There was plenty else that might be difficult with this new body as well. His relationship with his wife would certainly never be the same!

Over the course of several months, Roger finally adjusted to the effects of The Great Shift. It took a lot of effort on his part to boost his spirits. But thanks to some content lenses, diet and exercise, and a fantastic new wardrobe, Roger was beginning to think whole body swapping thing might not be so bad. He smiled as he stepped out of his office for lunch. He knew he looked good in the stunning red dress he had chosen to wear today. Several of his co-workers had complimented him. What he didn't tell them was that he had plans after work. Roger couldn't believe it himself, but he was now dating men...or at least people in men's bodies.

Over the next few weeks, things started to settle down. The sorority sisters no longer obsessed with giving Tyler a makeover every day (though certainly still from time to time), and they accepted him as a full-fledged member. he fit in perfectly with the other Asian girls at the house. It simply became how he started to see himself. Most of campus seemed to adjust in roughly the same way. While everyone maintained their former class schedule and standing for obvious reasons, social circles re-adjusted based on people's new bodies. Tyler guessed that the psychology majors were ecstatic.

Brian spent a few hours trying on all sorts of items from his sister's closet from shoes to dresses to skirts and more. Finally, in a moment of exhaustion, he collapsed on to her bed and squealed with delight. He was in a gorgeous body with full access to his sister's beautiful clothes. He hated to admit it, but this was like a dream come true. He pinched himself just to be sure it wasn't imagining the whole thing in his mind.

A pass (Part 1)

Jose had spent the last two days in Emily's body as he took her various tests. She was failing most of her classes and needed to pass these tests to maintain her cheerleading scholarship. She had asked Jose's help in a moment of desperation, and using an ancient spell passed down in her family, she turned Jose into a copy of her. The tests were a breeze for him, so in his spare time, he would marvel at Emily's body. It was amazingly flexible, and he loved that.

Separate paths

Curtis gave a desperate look back to his wife, Julia. She wouldn't be walking with him on the nature trail this time around. The day before, on the first full day of their Honeymoon on Hawaii, the young couple had walked the path together. Somewhere along the path, Curtis had found an interesting berry that he was tempted to eat. Julia was hesitant, but Curtis assured her that there were no poison plants native to Hawaii. They each ate some and found themselves instantly changing. Curtis slowly turned into a woman, and at the same time Julia changed into a man. It was fun at first, but after 24 hours, Julia wanted things back to normal. She demanded Curtis travel the trail alone and bring back some berries to fix this mess.

Daily grind

It had only been two days since the Great Shift, and Roger was already back to the daily grind. He had hoped his work would give him a little more time to adjust to his new body. It was a pretty big change for him, after all. He used to be a tall, handsome man, but thanks to the Shift's body swapping, he was now a short, somewhat dumpy looking woman. Her wardrobe was also so unprofessional and unfitting for his Wall Street career. She didn't own a single pants suit, and everything was so brightly colored. No stores had opened yet either. He waited for the subway wearing her bright blue coat; the platform wasn't nearly as crowded as it usually was. Everyone else was probably still allowed to stay home for a few more days.

Relax and reflect (Part 1)

Jack wandered through the field on the way to his fishing spot. It was where he always went to relax and reflect. That's certainly what he needed in the wake of the Great Shift. That body swapping phenomenon is what placed him into this young woman's body. He knew he didn't have the most unusual story, but he was still having trouble adapting. He hoped this visit would clear his head.

The next few weeks were an intense whirlwind for Julian as he adjusted to being in Veronica's body. There just seemed to be a lot of little things he had to learn about stuff like tampons and makeup. Still, he adjusted fairly well and became quite happy with his new life. He started dating Veronica, who was now in his body. It was weird at first, but it also seemed so right. He continued to work out at the gym, though he didn't feel the need to push himself nearly so hard these days. It was on one of these visits that he was approached by a strange man in a suit who offered to swap Julian back into his own body. It was an experimental procedure, but he was confident it would work. Julian was shocked at first. His heart raced thinking about returning to his own body, but his excitement soon faded as he looked at the man and declined his offer.

Maid's body (Part 1)

Kim and Irene had always wanted to start a maid cafe or maid service together; however, they had a problem. While Kim had the looks and a body that would appeal to men, she wanted to work as the manager. At the same time, Irene, who was average and plain, wanted to serve others.

The pair came up with the idea of hiring girls and then transferring their souls into their bodies, so that they can perform services with their hired girls.

However, as the business was new and it was just the pair of them Kim had to sacrifice her body for Irene to use in order to promote business.

The deal was that Irene can do anything she wanted with Kim body as long as it did not involved any sexual intercourses. After immediately agreeing Irene rushed to to dress Kim's body after they had switched bodies. She was already posing in her body at the customers coming into the cafe.

Max hated the fact that he was going to be stuck in his aunt's body for a few days. He hated her dog the most. At first, he thought he could just let it run around outside, but it kept scratching at the door needing something like to be fed or to be walked. At the same time, he realized he couldn't just neglect her pet. Then he realized there might be something worse. He'd have to chance her clothes sooner or later, and the thought of having to undress her body totally weirded him out.

Tyler decided that if he was going to apologize, he was going to do it right. He took a deep breath before going back into the sorority house. He wasn't going to object to any more makeovers, but if it was going to happen, he'd be the one directing it! The girls giggled with excitement as Tyler demanded straighter hair and more sparkles! He could embrace his new femininity and the girls embraced him. He felt beautiful and loved, but one nagging thing bothered him -- what had happened to the woman now in his body? They seemed to have left her back at the gym, shunned.

Seconds left

There were only a few seconds left in the game. Troy needed to catch this pass and then run out of bounds to stop the clock. The catch was easy enough, but as he ran out of bounds, he ended up knocking into a cheerleader. When it seemed Troy wasn't getting up, the medics were called to the field. But Troy had, in fact, gotten up already. At the moment he knocked into the cheerleader, he switched bodies with her. He nearly screamed as he saw his downed body on the field. At first, he thought he had died and was having an out-of-body experience. When he realized he had become a cheerleader, he was even more shocked than if he was dead. Plus, with only seconds left in the game, he couldn't imagine winning the game with this body.

Breaking news

Once it happened, every news reporter in town knew The Great Shift was going to be the story of their lifetimes. There was a scramble to get someone on the air in the wake of the massive world wide body swapping event. Chip Carter had been working on a puff piece when he swapped with a bride at a nearby wedding. Realizing all the equipment was right at hand, he sprung into action for the crew to arrange an uplink back to the station. Sure enough, he was the first to get a man-on-the-street report in his local market. He did his best to work through the unfamiliar feelings of a female body and the awkwardness of a wedding dress. None of it mattered to him; he was first!

Glare

Alex could only glare over in Amanda's direction. He wanted to say something about how he knew she was the one responsible for the body swap. He wanted to demand that she swap them back this instant, but she had always made it a point to surround herself with people. If Alex tried to approach her and bring up these topics, he would be seen as crazy. It might be worth it, but he knew she could always play her cards right and push him aside. He needed to do this when she was alone, but so far that opportunity had not come up.

The entire family was glad to be dropping off Aunt Kelly back home after how weird she had been acting the entire trip. Of course, none of them had figured out that it was actually their son Max inside her body. For his part, Max had been trying to reverse the magic of the body swap before this point. For some reason, it just hadn't worked. Now, it seemed he would be stuck in his Aunt's body for the next few days until he saw his family again.

Reflection

It had been pretty obvious that something had happened to Ryan. The white flash and odd feeling of his body in the wake of the Great Shift were both obvious, but as he walked aimlessly through the parking lot in a haze, it all didn't truly sink in until he saw his new reflection in the window of a car. The cute face looking back at him certainly wasn't his own. He was in shock, as was everyone else.
